Two people from Therapeutic said I could go ahead and post this here. Hope it doesn't offend.) Three Days of the Condom My first was wormy and partly dried in the woods under leaves after some party, not my friend's party, older, cooler, they had beer lots of beer. I wasn't impressed, kicked it around, wasn't sure what it was good for, the guys, they all knew and laughed at me, sure I must be lying. I didn't see one again till I was twenty-nine at our reunion, someone passed them out for fun- she was a volunteer at an aids clinic. It wasn't funny but we all laughed, I demonstrated on a banana, my hands never looked so right. They said I was a natural. Never did get to use one. Old boyfriends, new marriages, troubles and sorrows hiding in closets that night, but no one got lucky, I don't think. Next day I found one in my pocket, thought about trying it out with my husband but didn't want to explain where or why I got it. (Message edited by lazarus on October 11, 2005) | ||

Thank you- all of you for your comments. I'm so glad this came across for you. ("Is it anything to think about publishing," The poet said, musing on her possible future.") Many liked the title- its funny, that movie was one of the first movies that I knew about that contained erotic inferences. So it is, for me, more than just a pun. Kathryn- The condom stories, do you think there should be a challenge for that? Come one, come all; tell me your condom stories! Actually, the poem came from a debate on TV and the realization that my niece, who is just twelve, is probably going to know a lot more about them than I ever did. | ||
